Did you know that locals consider Rawhide to be the Best Western destination of Arizona? The readers of azcentral.com and the Arizona Republic nominated and selected Rawhide Western Town and Steakhouse of Wild Horse Pass as Best Western Experience of Arizona.
History has never recorded a social phenomenon quite like the mass migration that filled the American West with cities, towns and hamlets. And the excitement of that dramatic time in history continues to live on right here in Rawhide. In our town, the west is still wild.
The western frontier town of Rawhide is situated in the Gila River Indian Community. The history of this vast, majestic area of the Sonoran Desert and its people dates back to ancient times when the Huhukam civilization was thriving here along side the Gila River.
DOOMTOWN at Rawhide with haunted houses from the Crypt
Rawhide's annual Doomtown event returns this year, adding extras goblins and goo to compliment the already haunting experience. The new Halloween season brings a new saga for Digger Payne and the other residents of Doomtown. The Rawhide Roughriders bring you the ultimate Halloween show, with fantastic stunts and bone rattling explosions. While Doomtown's Mortician, Dr. Mortimer Morbius, shares his passion for the human body with unsettling experiments and preservations of the dead. All aboard for the spine chilling Train of Terror where passengers view the resting place of the dead.
Rawhide will be decorated in Halloween theme with glowing Jack-O-Lanterns and spider webbing, while headless horsemen, and other creepy western characters will be disbursed throughout the eerie town. Children and adults alike are invited to experience the two spine-chilling haunted houses this year, brought together by Cryptic Illusions. Beware the mental patients have escaped the confines of the asylum and are running free and one never knows when they may run into the Crypt Keeper himself!
